Police investigate deadly shooting

Suffolk police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left one person dead and one person injured.
The shooting was reported at 11:33 p.m. in the 300 block of Gloucester Street in downtown Suffolk. The caller said there was a victim lying in the street, according to a city press release.
Police responded and found 21-year-old Anthony Hale lying in the street. He was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition, according to the release.
During the course of their investigation, not long after midnight, officers located a second victim lying next to a residence in the same block, according to the release. Brandon Hudgins, 26, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have no suspect or motive at this time.
