Suffolk residents appointed to boards and commissions

Gov. Terry McAuliffe recently has made several appointments of Suffolk residents to boards and commissions.

  • Anna Healy James, director of business development and academic affiliation for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, has been appointed to the Board of Visitors at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
  • Elizabeth Taraski, president and chief executive officer of the Nansemond River Preservation Alliance, has been appointed to serve on the HRSD Commission. Taraski has nearly 30 years of combined experience in environmental stewardship, senior fundraising management and a variety of areas critical to effective utility management. She has earned several degrees, including a Ph.D. in higher education administration at Seton Hall University, a Master of Science from New York University and a Master of Education from Rutgers University.
