Suffolk Parks & Recreation is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all eligible children free of charge.

To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or non-residential camp, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are part of households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly foods stamps) benefits or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automatically eligible to receive free meals.

Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows through Aug. 18:

• Apple Tree Learning Center #1, 410 N. Broad St.

Breakfast: 8 to 9 a.m. Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Apple Tree Learning Center #2, 601 W. Washington St.

Breakfast: 8 to 9 a.m. Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Mack Benn Jr. Recreation Center Planet Recreation Summer Program, 1253 Nansemond Parkway

Breakfast: 9 to 10 a.m. Lunch: Noon to 1 p.m.

• Booker T. Washington Recreation Center Planet Recreation Summer Program, 204 Walnut St.

Breakfast: 9 to 10 a.m. Lunch: Noon to 1 p.m.

• Whaleyville Community Center, 132 Robertson St.

Breakfast: 9 to 10 a.m. Lunch: Noon to 1 p.m.

• Hoops for Life Summer Program, 351 Kings Fork Road
