L.J. “Jack” Mabe went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2017. He was preceded in death by mother, Trudy Byrd; sister, Doris Allen; and brother, Ray Mabe.

Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Mabe; daughters, Jackie Taylor (Craig) and Judith Lester (Robbie), both of Suffolk; sisters, Dianne Midyette and Paige Mosely, both of Suffolk; brother, Bobby Byrd, of Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, Craig Taylor II, Ashli Taylor and Hannah Baines; and four great-grandchildren, Aubri Walker, Addison Paiz, Craig Taylor III and Jace Taylor.

A visitation will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2017, at R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. A funeral, with the Rev. Ricky Garza officiating, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017, at R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W.
