James I. Smith, 75, originally of Suffolk, died July 21, 2017.

He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Bonnie June and Lee McManus; son and his wife, James Elton and Geena Smith; his sister, Peggy Holloman, and husband Wesley; and nine grandchildren.

Sturtevant Funeral Home is in charge. Burial will be private.
