The city of Suffolk launched a redesigned website on Thursday, following a nearly year-long redesign process.

The city worked with Civic Plus to create the redesigned website, www.suffolkva.us. The goal was to streamline the website’s look and feel to provide better navigation and use of the tools on the website to enhance communication between residents and the local government, according to a city press release.

The previous site design had been in place for nearly 10 years, the release stated.

The new site provides an improved site-wide search engine, a meeting and special events calendar on the home page, and a design that will adjust the size of the site depending on which device the viewer is using.

Work on the site will continue, and new features will be developed in the future, the release stated.

The city’s Economic Development Department also launched a redesigned site, www.yessuffolk.com, on Thursday. Suffolk Public Library and the Division of Tourism will have new looks on www.suffolkpubliclibrary.com and www.visitsuffolkva.com, respectively, in the coming weeks.
