Last week, the Suffolk Lady Cougars had an introductory meeting about their program at the Salvation Army. The turnout was great, and now the Lady Cougars will be holding tryouts this week at the same location.

“Our introductory meeting was a success,” coach Beverly Gaston said. “A lot of girls showed up. The turnout ended up being way bigger than we thought. Players came from everywhere.”

The Lady Cougars had roughly 47 girls showed up last week. Tryouts will be held this Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 400 Bank St., Suffolk. Players must come ready to play, and everyone is encouraged to bring water.
