The first CVS pharmacy in Suffolk is getting closer to its grand opening this fall.

According to Jason Chinnis, project manager with Rebkee Company based in Midlothian, the 12,000-square-foot pharmacy on Godwin Boulevard is expected to be finished by the end of August. Ashland Construction Company was contracted for the project and broke ground on March 1.

“CVS Pharmacy is committed to providing patients with high quality pharmacy care and we look forward to becoming a part of the Suffolk community,” CVS Health public relations manager Stephanie Cunha stated in an email.

Crews are currently finishing interior work for the building, along with paving and landscaping on the grounds. Chinnis said interior fixtures will need to be installed after their work is finished before the store opens later in the fall.

“The interior of the building just needs to get dressed up,” he said.

The store will staff 22 employees with about 10 positions still available, according to Cunha. Applicants can go online to jobs.cvshealth.com.
