Police investigate robbery

Portsmouth police are investigating a robbery that happened Monday evening.

The robbery was reported at 10:02 p.m., when police communications received a 911 call from the BP gas station and convenience store at 3909 Twin Pines Road, according to a press release.

The male suspect assaulted the clerk, forced his way into the cash register area and took the entire cash register drawer, according to the release. The suspect then exited the location and fled in an unknown direction.

The clerk was not injured.

No further information was available. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers are never required to give their name or appear in court and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
