Taste of Suffolk set for Saturday

Suffolk’s annual Taste of Suffolk Street Festival is set for Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Taste of Suffolk is in its 11th year, having attracted thousands of residents and visitors from all over Hampton Roads.

The event site in Downtown Suffolk will stretch down North Main Street starting on Finney Avenue and cover Washington Street from Commerce to Saratoga Street.

Main Street will be lined with booths featuring tasty treats from restaurants located across Suffolk presenting some of their specialty food items. Merchandise vendors will offer a variety of goods and services. There will be a new-car show by local Suffolk dealerships. And there will be entertainment all day, with live music and contests.

Master Gardeners will provide a demonstration for all of the garden enthusiasts, while Washington Street will host this year’s children’s, area featuring a rock climbing wall, bounce house, crafts, face painting, amusements and more.

New this year will be a beer garden showcasing craft brews from local and state-wide breweries.

Taste of Suffolk will feature some of Suffolk’s best eateries offering a limited menu of their best cuisine offerings. Restaurants will offer their items at minimal pricing, allowing event attendees to try a variety of foods.

This year’s festival will feature two stages located on Washington Street and Market Street.
