The Bulldogs went on the road Friday night and dominated Hickory High School with a 35-7 win.

After a close loss to Western Branch High School last week, King’s Fork High School followed up with the impressive win against Hickory. King’s Fork went up as much as 28-0 before Hickory got on the board.

Darran Butts and Sam Dunn each had two touchdowns for the Bulldogs. Butts rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns while Dunn had 68, which included a 55-yard touchdown pass from Justin German. Dunn also returned a fumble for a touchdown for King’s Fork.

Coach Scottie Littles liked the way his team was able to respond after the loss to Western Branch.

“We cleaned up some of the penalties we had from last week, but I’m proud of the guys,” he said. “They played hard, fast and physical. We played our game. We wanted to continue to develop the passing game and get things done in the running game as well.”

King’s Fork will return home for homecoming Friday against Grassfield High School.

“We’re excited about this opportunity coming up,” Littles said. “We are going to make sure we do everything in our power to make sure homecoming is successful.”
