Shirley W. Jones, 80, went to be with Lord on Sept. 24, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Rachel and James Albert Woodall. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Henry Jones, after 49 years of marriage.

Shirley started her working career for B.D. Laderberg and Son and went on to work for A.P. Groceries and Gold Kist Peanuts before retiring from Century 21 Brent Realty as a real estate agent. She loved to work in her garden and keep her yard pretty. Shirley was a member of Lighthouse Ministries in Holland.

She is survived by her three children, Judi Jones, of Chesapeake, Connie J. Davis, of Suffolk, and Douglas L. Jones and wife, Shirley, of Suffolk; five grandchildren, Charlie Raiford, Carly Davis, Carol Jones, Lukas Davis and Michael Smith and wife, Leanne; great-grandchildren Charles Raiford, Nathan Raiford, Ava Raiford, Victoria Smith, Nikolia Smith and Aiden Bryant; siblings, Shelton Woodall and wife, Saundra, Milton Woodall and wife, Juanita, and Sandra W. Edge; and many cousin nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, by the Rev. Howard Small, with the burial to follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
