A single-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of Holland Road claimed the life of the driver Tuesday afternoon.

Police and firefighters responded to the scene when the crash was reported at 3:21 p.m., according to a city press release. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as Hope Tara Parham, 46, of Suffolk.

The roadway was still closed at 9 p.m. and was expected to remain closed for several hours due to the ongoing investigation.

Police are asking any witnesses to the accident or residents or business owners who have surveillance video of the Holland Road area in the vicinity of the crash to call 925-2030.
