Gloria H. Whitfield, of 118 Burnetts Court, Suffolk, transitioned Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Clifton Goodman and Addie Lee Hinton. She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Whitfield.

She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. Gloria retired from Smithfield Packing Company after 25 years. She was a member of Greater First Baptist Church Orlando, where she was a trustee.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Dominique Parker and Robin S. Wilkins; three sons, Daryl Knight, Sr., Edward Whitfield and Ceveon Branch; 15 grandchildren, Ryshon, Ariya, Ty’Shon, Jaceyon, Janiya, Edward Jr., Shalon, Delante Saunders, Sacorya Leggette, Samyah Leggette, Sincere Harvey, Serenity Thorne, Darryl Knight, Amir Knight and Lamon Knight; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A joint funeral service with her husband will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Greater First Baptist Church Orlando. Interment will be in Albert G.
