Nansemond-Suffolk Academy alumnus Cole Christiansen is second in tackles for Army at West Point.
After being named a starter at linebacker back in August, Christiansen has taken full advantage of his opportunity. He is currently second on the team in tackles with 31 and has added three tackles for loss.
Army coach Jeff Monken had this to say about Christiansen when he named him a starter back in August: “Cole has had such a good camp, so we felt he needed to move up into that starting role. So, we moved him from the backup Mike (middle linebacker) to the Will (weak side linebacker). Cole is an outstanding football player, and I’m excited to see his hard work pay off. This will be a good opportunity for him.”
Christiansen will be in action Saturday against Eastern Michigan. Army is currently 4-2.
