Vanessa Boone Jacobs departed this life on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017. Vanessa is the daughter of Mary Christine Boone and the late Willies Boone Sr.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her husband, Colandus Jacobs. Left to treasure her memories are her son, Abdul Y. Jacobs (Crystal); her granddaughter, Diamonds Jacobs; three sisters, Judie Boone, Delilah Porter (Sylvester), Frances Shoulders (Reginald); one brother, Michael L. Boone; two aunts, Marilyn B. West and Marion Barnes; two uncles; Walter Boone (Thelma) and Alton L. Boone (Francine); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A wake will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Harris Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. You may send condolences to the family at www.vharrisfuneralhome.com.
