A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by an SUV on Saturday evening.

The accident happened about 8:04 p.m. in the 400 block of Carolina Road, according to a city press release. The victim was ground transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV remained on the scene, the press release stated.
