Pedestrian killed in North Suffolk
Police are investigating an accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian Tuesday evening in North Suffolk.
The pedestrian, whom city officials described simply as “a young male” in a press release Tuesday night, was hit by a tractor trailer, in the 6100 block of Brookwood Drive in the Wynnewood neighborhood.
Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink stated in the release that emergency dispatchers received their first call about the accident at 5:36 p.m. and that the driver of the truck remained on the scene for the investigation.
Road closures were in place at Brookwood Drive at Camellia Drive, as well as Brookwood Drive and Brookwood Court.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and Klink stated that no further information was available at the time of her release.
