Man steals beer during robbery

A man stole two cases of beer during an armed robbery early Thursday.
Police say a male subject entered the 7-Eleven in the 800 block of Carolina Road about 2:40 a.m., displayed a firearm and removed beer from the cooler prior to leaving the business, according to a city press release.
The subject was described as a short black male, about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 to 160 pounds and 40 to 45 years old, according to the press release. He was further described as wearing black pants, a black jacket and a black baseball cap with a Chicago White Sox emblem on the front. He left in a small, white SUV.
No one was injured during the incident.
