Player of the Week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

Erick Grant, junior, Lakeland High School football: Grant rushed for 252 yards and four touchdowns in the Cavs’ 45-0 win over Great Bridge High School.

Justin German, senior, King’s Fork High School football: German completed 17 of 26 passes for 327 yards and two touchdowns, which included a 52-yard touchdown pass to Cherrod Joe to give the Bulldogs a 29-23 upset over Oscar Smith High School.

Kevin Johnson, junior, Nansemond River High School football: Johnson rushed for 171 yards and a touchdown in a win for the Warriors over Grassfield High School.
