Golfers wanted for Veterans Day competition
Honor veterans and support their loved ones by signing up for a competition at Suffolk’s Riverfront Golf Club.
The 14th annual Veteran’s Day Golf Tournament will begin this Friday with registration at 7 a.m. and tee off at 8:30 a.m.
The tournament supports Special Ops Survivors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving surviving spouses of active-duty Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Special Operations personnel who have died in combat or training since Jan. 1, 1980, according to its website.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided, along with awards after the competition. About 70 golfers have signed up as of Friday, according to Special Ops Survivors Board President and event organizer John Marshall.
