The 1967 class of John F. Kennedy High School enjoyed a weekend of reminiscing and laughter celebrating its 50th class reunion on Oct. 13-15.
Class members and one sponsor, Marian Fisher Martin, reconnected at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront.
The guests enjoyed a meet-and-greet on Friday night. On Saturday evening, they had a banquet featuring reminiscing, recognition of deceased sponsors and classmates, and dancing to the sounds of DJ Tidewater.
Classmates were brought together again on Sunday to unite spiritually. A reunion service with preaching by the Rev. Berry Jones and choral music by class members provided fellowship before Sunday brunch.
Planning Committee members were Clementine Cooper Bess, Mearl Walker Boone, Larry Cross, Denvip Davis, Sandra DeLoatch, Vertley Mann Hopson, Charles Jordan, Brenda Chambliss Pitt and Mary Bess Riddick.
