Joyce Elaine Matthews Brinkley, 74, of Suffolk, passed away Jan. 8, 2018. She was born in Suffolk to the late Horace and Maude Matthews. She is also predeceased by her husband of 37 years, John Wesley Brinkley Jr.

Joyce is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Thompson and Nancy and Keith Carr; son and daughter-in-law, John and Willa Brinkley; grandchildren, Ashley, Brooke, Taylor, Matthew and Miranda; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Curtis Meacham; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Cindy Matthews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Walter Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
