Mary Louise James

Mary Louise James, 102, a good and faithful servant, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on Jan. 12, 2018, to hear “Well Done.” A native of Burgaw, N.C., she is survived by her daughter, Ardell Wright White, of Suffolk; her sons, Robert George Simpson, of Jacksonville, N.C., and James Earl Simpson, of Burgaw, N.C.; son-in-law, Al White Sr., of Suffolk; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three very special godsons; and a host of other relatives.
Ms. James was the oldest surviving member of the Sunlight Chapter 634 Order of Eastern Star, PHA for North Carolina. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Burgaw, where she sang in the choir and served on the Missionary Board. Ms. James also attended Tabernacle Christian Church, Suffolk.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Dunn Funeral Home, 810 W. Wilmington St., Burgaw, NC. Phone 910-259-9400. The homegoing service will be at noon on Jan. 19, 2018, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 312 N. Wright St., Burgaw, NC. Viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
