A man was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries on Saturday evening.

Officers were originally dispatched to the 2200 block of East Washington Street about 6:29 p.m. on reports of shots fired, according to city spokesman Tim Kelley.

However, the officer was redirected to the 2100 block due to reports of an adult male who suffered a gunshot wound, Kelley stated.

The bullet struck through the man’s windshield, he said. The incident is still under investigation by the Suffolk Police Department.
