Leslie Antwoine Harper

Leslie Antwoine Harper, 51, known to many as “Big Harp,” entered into eternal slumber on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at his residence. He was born on Dec. 8, 1966, to Bishop Leslie J. Harper and the late Missionary Delores Pierce Harper.

He was a 1986 graduate of Suffolk High School, and he retired from the City of Suffolk Department of Public Works.

Leslie leaves behind his wife, Cathy Harper; daughters, Beverly, Jenna and Azorrie Harper; father, Bishop Leslie Harper (Joyce); adopted son, La’vontae Harmon; stepdaughters, Marita Nichols, Ebony Bell and Tamika Bell; stepson, Marco Eure; three sisters; Janice Copeland (Clarence), Ethel Seaborn (Gerald) and Jessica Harper (Troy); mother-in-law, Mary Vann (Paul); and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Harper’s visitation will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at noon on Monday at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries Church.
