Cavs come up short

Despite a career night by Clint Wright Jr., the Cavs came up short at home Friday.

The Lakeland High School boys’ basketball team came up just short in their matchup with Indian River High School. The Cavs took a 72-68 loss, which ended their three-game win streak. In their last four games, Lakeland has won three of four.

Wright Jr. had a game high and a career high 29 points in the Cavs’ loss. Keimari Artis added 13 points. Lakeland has many close losses to some of the top teams in the Southeastern District.

Lakeland will have to quickly put this loss behind them as they get ready for another matchup with rival King’s Fork High School.
