Police ask for assistance identifying burglar

Suffolk police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a subject believed to be involved in two burglaries at service stations on Bridge Road.

The burglaries occurred on Jan. 12 and Feb. 11, according to a city press release.

On Jan. 12 at about 9:54 p.m., the burglar forced entry into the BP station in the 1600 block of Bridge Road, the release stated. The offender removed a large number of cigarettes from the store before fleeing. The offender was wearing a black sweatshirt with a white T-shirt underneath, according to the release.

In the Feb. 11 burglary, an unknown offender forced entry into the Shell station in the 3700 block of Bridge Road at about 2:10 a.m., the release stated. The burglar once again took a large number of cigarettes and fled. The offender was wearing red tennis shoes.
