The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team has advanced in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II state tournament after a 42-31 win over Norfolk Collegiate at home Tuesday night.

Alivia Giles scored 12 points and added eight rebounds, while Kaylah Brown added 11 points and six assists. Alyssa Waddy scored 10 points, making three Lady Saints who scored in double digits.

NSA will take on Atlantic Shores Christian School at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Atlantic Shores in the quarterfinals of the VISAA Division II state tournament. NSA is the No. 6 seed, while Atlantic Shores is the No. 5 seed. Admission is $5.
