Catherine W. Hurdle went to be with the Lord on Feb. 26, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Royce L. Hurdle, and was predeceased by her siblings, Nell Champion, Willie Honeycutt and Jean Bunch.

Catherine, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, was retired after 27 years as a Suffolk Public Schools bus driver. She was a charter member of Wilroy Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne Hurdle and wife, Pam, and Barry Hurdle and wife, Vickie; grandsons, Ryan (Alex) and Levi; sister, Syble Whitley; and brother, William J. (Bill) Whitehurst Jr. and wife, Betty.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, by Pastor Timothy W. Rawls. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Wilroy Baptist Church Building Fund.
