Suffolk native Shannon Evans II recently earned his 1,000th point playing for Arizona State University.

The former Nansemond River High School basketball standout eclipsed 1,000 points in only two seasons played at ASU. He had already eclipsed 1,000 career points last season while combining his time at Buffalo and ASU. He is well over 1,200 career points scored in his time playing NCAA Division I basketball.

This season, Evans has averaged 16.7 points, 3.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds. ASU is likely to be a part of March Madness, but their fate won’t officially be decided until this Sunday. With his strong senior campaign, Evans also earned honorable mention for the All-Pac-12 team. He has helped ASU to a 20-11 record so far on the season.
