Suffolk police are investigating a shooting that happened Friday morning.

Police were called at 8:38 a.m. to the 700 block of Nixon Drive in the Lake Kennedy Estates neighborhood. Preliminary investigation found that an adult male suffered a gunshot wound not believed to be life-threatening. He was taken to a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details were available Friday morning.
