Suffolk Christian Academy softball team grabbed a big 12-2 win this week.
SCA grabbed its second win of the season with the home win over Bishop Sullivan Catholic School. The Lady Knights’ 12-run total is a season high so far. Their first win of the season came against Ridgecroft School.
“Both games, we kind of had a different lineup just to get a different feel for different players who can help the team,” Coach Robbie Lester said. “This game, the girls did a good job hitting the ball and running the bases. Our pitching has been really good. We are almost in midseason form already.”
The Lady Knights came out on fire in the first inning, putting up seven runs. They had five of their 12 runs batted in during the first inning alone. Channing Acree went 2-2 with two runs and three RBIs for the game. Arryana Baird handled the pitching duties for SCA, surrendering only three hits and two runs.
“I feel satisfied when I see the work we put in pay off,” Lester said. “When you put it together like that, and it works, it puts a big smile on your face.”
Even with the exciting win Thursday evening, the Lady Knights never lost focus during the game. Lester is happy with the amount of focus his team has come out with so early in the season.
SCA will go on the road Monday to face Cape Henry Collegiate.
