Quinton Earl Goodwin, 69, went home to be with his Lord on March 23, 2018, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Edenton, N.C., the son of William A. Goodwin and Jessie Mae Goodwin. He retired from BASF in 2010. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities; a deacon, a youth choir director, a youth Sunday School teacher, in the adult choir and many more areas. He served his Lord gladly and has touched not only the youth, but all who came in contact with him, with his humble living testimony.

Quinton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Faye C. Goodwin, whom he cherished and loved to the fullest; daughters, Monica G. Arnot (James), of Carrsville, and Pamela L. Parker (Billy), of Suffolk; brother Donald Goodwin (Susan), of Carrsville, sisters, Sandra G. Bangley (Bob), of Windsor, and Rhonda G. Recto (Edgardo), of Chantilly; and six beautiful grandchildren who completely captured his heart and his love, Camron Arnot, Sean Arnot, Madison Arnot, Summer Parker, Hart Parker and Layton Parker. He could not brag on them enough. With all of his family and friends, he leaves a legacy of love for his Lord and his family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1637 Holland Road, Suffolk, with the Rev. Ricky Garza officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk. Friends may also visit at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to his beloved church’s building fund, Hillcrest Baptist Church, or to Life Line Screening, www.lifelinescreening.com. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
