June Berry Ramsey, 72, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents; Raymond Berry and Judith Jolly; and a brother, Joseph Mendell Jolly. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Ramsey and Cheryl Super (Jeff); siblings, Jack Berry (Sheila), of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Cindy Wentz (Bob), of Ormond Beach, Fla., Donna Basnight, of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Wanda Fenz (Jim), of Nags Head, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also among those who will fondly remember June for her warmth and generosity will be the many children she took in and helped over the years.

June’s many passions included cooking for her family and friends, going out to eat, tending her garden, especially her roses, and anything to do with her beloved church, Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a very social person and loved being with people.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1637 Holland Road, Suffolk, with the Rev. Ricky Garza officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, N.C. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W.
