The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball team won its fifth straight game on Wednesday.

The Lady Saints improved to 5-0 after the win against Isle of Wight Academy. This game was as close as it has been for the Lady Saints this season, as they won 2-0.

Emerson Puzey handled pitching duties on the mound, and she struck out 16 in the shut out win. A sacrifice fly by Puzey in the second inning helped get the Lady Saints on the board first.

Madison Inscoe and Addy Greene scored NSA’s only runs of the day. Gabby Infranco had a double, while Inscoe had a triple.

NSA will face Norfolk Collegiate at home at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
