Check libraries for activities

To the editor:

In response to a letter to the editor that was published on March 28 titled “Suffolk needs more activities,” I would like to point out that the Suffolk Public Library is consistently offering free activities for children, teens and adults.
Crafting, art lessons, storytimes, pop culture celebrations, book clubs, STEM activities and gaming meetups are just a handful of examples of the free activities happening at the library almost every day of the week. This week, the library is hosting a week-long Spring Break Staycation for families who aren’t able or choose not to travel for spring break.
I agree that more free community events are always a good thing, and I want to see more of them, but I hope you take a look at the library’s calendar next time you feel like Suffolk is lacking in that area. You might be surprised!
