Road closure set for sign removal

Part of Pruden Boulevard westbound will be closed for a few hours Wednesday in order to remove an overhead sign, according to a city press release.
The sign removal will take place beginning at 9:30 a.m. and continue for about three to four hours, the press release stated. It will require the complete closure of Pruden Boulevard westbound from the Route 58 eastbound on-ramp continuing under the overpass. The eastbound on-ramp to Route 58 also will be closed.
Traffic will be detoured via Godwin Boulevard, the press release stated.
City spokeswoman Diana Klink said the overhead signs were found to be damaged during a routine inspection. There is “no imminent threat to the motoring public,” she stated in an email, but out of an abundance of caution, the repairs were scheduled as soon as possible to avoid potential further damage.
