Lady Saints edge by IWA

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball team won its 14th consecutive game on Thursday evening. They hosted Isle of Wight Academy and earned a 2-1 win.

The first matchup between these two teams was also close, as NSA won 2-0 at the end of March.

The Lady Saints scored both of their runs in the first inning. Emerson Puzey had a double, driving in a run in the first inning, and they also scored on a stolen base on Puzey’s at bat.

Addy Greene had two stolen bases on the day, with Madi Wilson adding one as well. Puzey earned the pitching win, striking out eight and allowing one run.

NSA will have a Pink Game Saturday, hosting John A. Holmes High School at 10 a.m. They have a few games left before the playoffs start in the early part of May.
