The Nansemond River High School baseball team has taken the season series against Oscar Smith High School after a 4-1 win on the road Tuesday afternoon. Gage Williams pitched all seven innings for the Warriors and allowed three hits while striking out 10 batters.

Jonivan Savage had two home runs for the Warriors. He went 2-2 with three RBIs and pretty much had a hand in all offense generated for the Warriors. After going up 1-0 after the fourth inning, the Warriors put up three runs in the sixth inning to solidify their win. Jarrett Mayer stole two bases and Warren Wright stole one, giving the team three on the day.

Nansemond River will face Great Bridge High School at home at 5:30 p.m. Friday. It will be Cancer Awareness Day for all Nansemond River athletics, competing to bring attention to childhood cancer.
