Saints baseball falls by one in TCIS semis

The Saints baseball team was defeated by Norfolk Christian School on the road Wednesday afternoon.

Norfolk Christian and Nansemond-Suffolk Academy matched up for the second time in a week’s span. During the first matchup, NSA won 7-5, but NCS was able to have the upper hand in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament semifinals. They won 4-3.

NCS took an early 2-0 lead after two innings of play. NSA was able to come right back and tie it up at two after three innings of play.

NSA took the lead in the fourth inning 3-2, but NCS put up a couple of runs late in the game to get the win. Will Rice went 2-3 with one run. Caden Anselm and Kieran Conway pitched, with Anselm taking the loss.

NSA remains at No. 6 in the final Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II Poll. They will turn their attention to the VISAA state tournament, which starts Tuesday with NSA’s opponent to be determined.
