With a home win Wednesday evening, the Lady Saints advanced to the state semifinals.
As the No. 2 seed in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II state tournament, the Lady Saints defeated Carlisle School at home Wednesday evening 6-0.
Abby Herrod led the attack with four goals, and she added an assist as well. Mallory Mizelle’s four saves led the defense. Both Herrod and Mizelle were both selected as first team All-Conference players recently. Along with Herrod and Mizelle, Alivia Giles and Camryn King were selected second team All-Conference. Giles scored a goal and had an assist Wednesday evening for NSA.
NSA has added some much-needed momentum they are looking to maintain throughout the rest of the state playoffs.
NSA will face Seton School at 1 p.m. Friday at Ukrop Park in Richmond. If the Lady Saints win, they will play at Ukrop Park again at 4 p.m. Saturday for a state championship, depending on weather.
