Facing possible severe weather, two Ruritan Clubs have made decisions on outdoor events for this Saturday.

The Holland Ruritan Club has decided to postpone its barbecue cook-off, car show, beach music and fireworks until a later date, the club announced Thursday on its Facebook page.

“The weather does not look promising and in order to keep from having to pay penalties, we must make this decision today,” the club stated in the announcement.

It continued that the club would try to have its annual Founders Day ceremony at the monument in Holland as well as the parade. The indoor banquet will also go on as scheduled.

“A decision on the parade will be made closer to the event,” the club stated. “Thank you for your understanding.”

The postponed events would be in late summer or early fall, the club added.

Meanwhile, the Crittenden, Eclipse & Hobson Ruritan Club plans for the show to go on for its annual Beer, Bands and BBQ festival.

“We have acquired two large tents,” the club stated in an announcement on its Facebook page. “We’re still gonna have a great time!”
