Carrie Elaine Lassiter, 65, affectionately known as “Pulie,” passed away on May 27, 2018. She was born on Dec. 10, 1952, in Sunbury, N.C., to Etta Lassiter and Russell Lassiter.

She graduated from Central High School in Gates County, N.C.

Carrie retired from Gwaltney of Smithfield. She was a loyal and faithful member of Love Center Family Church, where she served as a deaconess.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Janet Baker, Linton Lassiter, Charlotte Goodman and Darry Lassiter.

Carrie leaves behind her children, Shelly Conrad Lassiter, Lynn Diane Lassiter, Charance Lavey Hunter (La Tonya), all of Suffolk; sisters, Barbara Jones, of Sunbury, N.C., Celestine Wilson, of Suffolk, Brenton Lassiter, of Suffolk, and Marion Goodman (Elton), of Waterbury, Conn.; one uncle and three aunts; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Ms. Lassiter’s visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries Church, and she will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
