A tractor-trailer took down a power line and caused several power poles to break exiting East End Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon.
The downed power lines caused power outages affecting 3,100 residences initially and caused outages at the intersections of Nansemond Parkway and Portsmouth Boulevard and Wilroy Road and Constance Road.
Emergency communications were notified at 2:02 p.m., and the right lane of Portsmouth Boulevard westbound was closed.
The closure was expected to last for several hours as Dominion Energy replaced the damaged poles, according to a press release.
There were no injuries.
