I was too busy working to have a dream job. I started working when I was 11 years old with my father in a gas station, then I went from that to join the Navy and spent six years on nuclear submarines. Now I’m only daydreaming because I’m retired.

I think I’ve always wanted to be an engineer. I tore things apart when I was a kid, anything that would come up to see how it would work, and that’s basically what I do now. I never grew up.

I’m still trying to figure that out. I was big into dancing when I was little, so I thought maybe the Rockettes, but I didn’t have the height for that. I’m very creative, but I don’t have a passion for just one thing.

My dream job was to be a teacher, and I got to fulfill that for a few years. I enjoyed it, but I like my job now (with the library) even better. One day I’m running in the park, and another I’m reading to preschoolers. I like the variety in my position.
