Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

• Kaia Young, senior, King’s Fork High School track and field: Young won the 300 hurdles in the Class 4 state meet.
• Teshun Pierre, sophomore, Lakeland High School track and field: Pierre won the state championship in the long jump and was a part of the state championship-winning 4×100 relay team.
• Kori Carter, junior, Nansemond River High School track and field: Won two state championships in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles.
