Nansemond-Suffolk Academy standout Kaylah Brown is a nominee for an award at the inaugural JARCAM Sports Hampton Roads Youth Sports Award.
JARCAM sports is a sports technology company that focuses on the progress of the student-athlete. They also create performance evaluation tools to help evaluate and help improve student-athletes’ skills. For the inaugural youth sports awards, Brown is a nominee for the leadership award.
In her last season at NSA, she helped lead the Lady Saints to a state tournament berth. She also finished her senior season as a first team All-Conference and first team All-State player.
“It’s an honor to be nominated and the fact that people took time out to nominate me is a blessing, because I feel like my hard work has paid off,” she said. “It means a lot.”
After transferring to NSA during her junior season, Brown quietly transitioned into a nice option for the Lady Saints. She then came into her senior season wanting to be the leader of the team, as she was her last season.
Kaleb Brown was also nominated for the rising stars award.
