Kirkman “Kirk” Rountree, 26, passed from this world to the next, unexpectedly, on Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Harrisonburg.

He was born Sept. 26, 1991, in Suffolk. Kirk graduated from King’s Fork High School in Suffolk and attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg.

Kirk was employed at Rocktown Kitchen in Harrisonburg. He was an avid enthusiast

of music, skateboarding and exploring the world around him.

Kirk is survived by his mother and best friend, Betty Jean Rountree, of Harrisonburg; his father, Chuck Rountree, of Suffolk; his sisters, Samantha Brown (Steve), of Suffolk, Tamatha Rountree, of Hanford, Calif., Leslie Smullen, of Franklin, Brittany Lamar, of Brookings, Ore., and Donnie Lamarm of Brookings, Ore. He is also survived by many family members and friends whose lives he touched.

The family will be holding memorial services in Suffolk and Harrisonburg.
