Police seek man in assault

Police are seeking the public’s assistance locating a subject wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery and assault that happened Wednesday night.

Emergency Communications received a call at 5:45 p.m. from the Easy Mart in the 1300 block of East Washington Street, according to a city press release. An adult male victim reported he had been robbed at knifepoint and injured. The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, the release stated.

Following a preliminary investigation, the Suffolk Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating Byron Franklin Ambrose Jr., 30, of Suffolk. He is described as a dark-skinned black male, 6 feet, 6 inches tall, about 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
